Fags as in the UK slang for cigarettes (rather than anything else).
I follow Dua Lipa on Instagram. There’s no real reason why I do, I like some of her music and one day decided to follow her. She does a podcast for the BBC, I believe – which makes her a better person than some (most) others.
Doing the occasional trawl through Instagram, I happened upon a post from “our Dua”, with a cigarette in her hand. Further post-scanning revealed several other posts with cigarettes, clearly revealing that Dua is indeed a smoker (the latest post was June 8th 2023).
Not that I care whether she smokes or not, I just found it odd that she (or whoever does her Instagram posting) posts those pictures, knowing that amongst her 88.5 million or so followers, there’s going to be someone that considers the act of smoking to be cool, because Dua does it.
In this day and age, I found that odd.
