Today (January 20th 2024) is the 90th Birthday of my personal favourite Doctor, Tom Baker.
Tom is of course, best known for his iconic portrayal of the fourth incarnation of the Doctor in the long-running science fiction television series “Doctor Who.” Baker’s tenure as the Doctor, from 1974 to 1981, made him one of the most beloved and recognizable actors associated with the role.
Before his time on “Doctor Who,” Baker had a diverse career in acting, including stage performances and various television roles. After leaving “Doctor Who,” he continued to work in both television and film, with notable appearances in productions such as “The Golden Voyage of Sinbad” (1973) and “The Hound of the Baskervilles” (1982).
I avoid them, you know. Not with any malice. A degree of contempt, perhaps. But mildly. Mildly contemptuous.

In addition to his acting career, Tom Baker has lent his distinctive voice to numerous projects, including narrations for documentaries and audiobooks. He remains a beloved figure among “Doctor Who” fans, and his portrayal of the Doctor is often regarded as one of the most iconic in the show’s history.
Happy Birthday, old cock!
